Tour of my Room

Hello!
So many of my friends have been asking me about what my room looks like here in Thailand! I live in a three bedroom, two-story home. I live here with another teacher from America. Her name is Marly and she is from Boston. Downstairs, there is a Korean teacher from the high school in our town. We are a 8 minute walk from school, or a 5 minute motor bike drive!
We have an outdoor style Thai kitchen. Appliances in that kitchen include: a fridge, a microwave, a hotplate, and a sink that shoots straight out into the backyard! Our kitchen is "well equipped" here and is obviously VERY different from typical American kitchens.

My room is connected to that beautiful balcony upstairs! My room is quite large and I feel so lucky to have this pretty balcony.
This is the view of my neighborhood from the balcony.

So here is my room tour!

(I included a close up of my desk because it has two awesome things on it! That camera is my dad's old Minolta that I brought with me. The notebook on my desk is also a great reminder from a wonderful friend, Shoutout to Lauren)

The very first thing I did to my room was hang the pictures on the walls! I love having little slices of home in my room :) I have pictures of friends, pictures of students, pictures of family, and little quotes to remind me why I chose to come to Thailand.
Although I am having a great time and loving this adventure, it has sometimes proven hard. Everything here is different; how I get around (motorbike on super crowded streets or walking) , how I order food (or lack there of because of my Thai skills), and even how I shower (flooding the whole bathroom each time).
Today marks 3 years without my dad, and it is also the first day I have felt a very strong longing to be at home. I'm enjoying my time here so much, but I would give anything to be home with my family on this rough day, especially my dad.
Signing off from Saraburi.
